PTSA Meeting - LGBTQ Getting It Straight with Lisa Love @ Pathfinder Library

LGBTQ: GETTING IT STRAIGHT

Our rescheduled Tuesday May 23rd general meeting features Seattle Public Schools’ very own Lisa Love. Lisa is the manager for Health Services and hosts the annual district wide LGBTQ Family Dinner sponsored by SPS.

In an era where gender diversity is expanding and changing quickly, often our children have more information than we do, questions that we cannot answer, and are encountering situations that can push us out of our comfort zones as parents.

Lisa will be joining us to give us current information on terminology, identity, SPS policies, and is ready to answer all your questions! She will also bring with her books that you can review for your own family’s use.

This presentation is the first of an ongoing series desgined to help parents and teachers understand the complex and evolving landscape of gender diversity. As a result of our recently formed Diversity Task Force PTSA is committed to bringing parents opportunities to explore gender diversity/sexual orientation in a comfortable and safe environment. Acoordingly, we ask that you take advantage of our free childcare in Blazing Trails so that topics can be freely addressed.

We look forward to seeing you at this meeting in the library starting at 6:30! All are welcome!
